By using computer-programmed mapping, Audio Textures converts the colors of the world into musical notes through aspects of color and brightness as they relate to pitch and velocity. The app uses the camera of a smart phone and captures image which is then converted by a computer and played back by MIDI instruments, creating unique textures for anything you see. Audio Textures hopes that someday soon music can be a way to literally describe the universe around us.
